Trail Riding Ministry
Cowboys for Jesus Trail Riding Ministry is made up of a group of Christians who like horses and want to have an opportunity to fellowship and ride with others who enjoy horses in an atmosphere of clean family living.
WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF COWBOYS FOR JESUS TRAIL RIDING MINISTRY?
Our Trail Ride Ministry is an outreach to those who’s love of horses and riding takes them on various trail riding adventures including the “Rodeo Trail Rides” which converge on San Antonio and Austin to advertise the rodeo. We are available to ride and minister to any trail riding opportunity but we have focused primarily on two rides.
The first one prior to the San Antonio rodeo, usually in early February, starts in Buda on Saturday and ends in San Antonio on Friday when the rodeo begins. Several of our Cowboys For Jesus ride this trail with them and try and just try to be available to minister however the Lord leads when opportunities arise. Many of our non riding saints prepare a free spaghetti dinner for the hundred or so riders on Sunday evening and hold an evening church service for them including some cowboy worship with the Cowboys For Jesus worship team.
The second ride is the original Texas Star Trail Ride which goes from Fredericksburg to Austin. We hold a short Sunday morning, in the saddle, mini service and prayer prior to ride out. This ride camps out overnight at our church on Wednesday evening and we also feed them a spaghetti dinner and try to interest then in attending our regular mid week service which usually will include some kind of cowboy interest.
We also supply a generous supply of homemade cookies for the riders to enjoy during the breaks and this might have something to do with the fact that they welcome us being part of the ride.
