Our Story

How it all started...

From a young age Jerry Hoyt felt God's calling to be a Pastor.   Jerry and Jan had been leading a home group and felt God calling them to turn it into something more. After selling his business and trusting in God to provide, they launched out into ministry.  Moving from his home to a one room school house, the ministry continued to grow and Cowboys for Jesus was born.

Expanding the vision...

After spending a year in Shotgun Hall, the Lord blessed the church with both people and provision. Cowboys for Jesus was able to buy a beautiful piece of property in Fischer, Texas and started construction on their permanent home.  Over the years, the Lord has provided ministries, music and a thriving church family. Pastor Jerry retired in 2022 after 21 years of faithful service.

Where we are headed...

The church called it's new Pastor, Andrew Arrieta, in 2021. Pastor Andrew and his family moved from Washington State with a vision to see the church grow spiritually in the Lord. With an emphasis to grow deeper in our relationship with the Holy Spirit, to reach out to young families and dive deeper into God's word. Cowboys for Jesus is excited for what God has in store for the next season.

Founding Pastor Jerry Hoyt

Pastor Jerry Hoyt surrendered the call to ministry as a teenager at camp. He knew from that point, he was to always serve God in church. One day the Holy Spirit reminded him that his anointing was to be a pastor of his own church and Cowboys for Jesus was established. For the last 19 years he has dedicated his life to learning, teaching, serving and seeing people’s lives changed through the teaching of the bible. He praises God for allowing him to be a part of Cowboys for Jesus and this community. Jerry retired January 30, 2022.
